charity: water
// February 12th, 2009 // Announcements
charity: water is a non profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. We give 100% of the money raised to direct project costs, funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need. Just $20 can give one person in a developing nation clean water for 20 years.
Moderne Communications, in the spirit of helping to bring the world together, will be hosting the first ever Second Life Twestival for charity:water. The event will take place at the virtual charity:water headquarters on Moderne Island on February 12, 2009 at 4:30pm SLT. The 2 hour event will feature live music, information on charity:water’s work and how you can help, and donation points that allow you to give directly to the well-building projects. No donation is required to attend, but anything you can give is much appreciated.
Come down to Moderne Island and meet some other Twittering Second Lifers. It will be a great time and, more importantly, for a great cause. And remember to support all of the Twestival efforts for charity: water by making a donation, attending an event or participating in one of their many online fundraising activities.
